HOMESTEAD POTTERY
Lisa Barry
Utility and Nourishment
Rooted in Tradition
Dedicated to Craftsmanship
Lisa is a graduate of Sheridan College School of Craft and Design in the late 90’s studying ceramics. From there she went on to receive her BFA from the Alberta College of Art and Design. Upon graduation she returned to Haliburton, Ontario and began setting up a home and studio on the family Homestead. Her Grandfathers shop was renovated into a studio and gallery. A small wood fired kiln was built. In a short few years she became a founding members of a local Arts collective and Lisa became an instructor at Haliburton School of the Arts. Her work speaks about utility but more importantly about being nourished.
Winter Musings…
January and February are months dedicated to setting the table for the year ahead. We are in the early stages of design and production of new work. This is also the time of year for hearty meals, getting lost in winter splendour and systematically crafting a year ahead.
